  • Women's Cross Country Team Earns All-Academic Status

    The USTFCCCA has announced the Lady Spartan Cross Country Team as an All-Academic honoree. The team held a 3.61 G.P.A. This academic award follows their first ever East Coast Conference Cross Country Championship.

    Sarah Callagy, Keeley Bateman and Julia Karl have been named to the 2010 USTFCCCA Cross Country All Academic Team. The trio finished in the top thirty percent at the NCAA East Regional Race and maintains at least a 3.25 G.P.A.
  • Spartan Runners Finish Season at NCAA East Regional

    The Spartan cross country teams ran their final race of the 2010 season at the NCAA East Regional at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. Junior Sarah Callagy lead the women’s team with a 41st place finish in 24:14. Freshman Mike Galonski was the first finisher for the men’s squad in 40th place in 33:10.
  • Lady Spartans Take Home Cross Country Crown

    The women's cross country team won their first ever East Coast Conference Championship on Sunday at C.W. Post. Junior Sarah Callagy was named Runner of the Year after winning the race in 19:14. Freshman Keeley Bateman finished third overall in 19:25 and was named Rookie of the Year.

    The Spartan Cross Country Team captured a fifth place team finish at the 2010 East Coast Conference Championship. Freshman Mike Galonski's fifth place finish in 26:10 earned him individual recognition as a first team all conference selection.

    St. Thomas Aquinas women's cross country runner Keeley Bateman was named the ECC rookie of the week. Bateman finished 11th at the St. Rose Joust with a time of 19:28 to help guide her team to a 4th place finish. This is the 3rd time Bateman has been named ECC Rookie of the Week.

    Sarah Callagy's 19:01 finish (4th place) secured fourth place for the Lady Spartans while Mike Galonski's 7th place finish in 26:21 led the Spartan runners to the same team standing.
  • Spartans Compete at UAlbany Invitational

    The STAC cross country team added another strong showing to the season on Saturday at the UAlbany Invitational. The Lady Spartans were lead by Keeley Bateman (19: 37) and Sarah Callagy (19:57). The men ran as two five man teams with Mike Galonski leading one squad in 27:03 and Garvenchy Nicolas leading the other in 29:16.

    St. Thomas Aquinas women's cross country runner, Keeley Bateman was named the ECC Rookie of the Week for the second week in a row. Bateman set the STAC school record for the 5K with a time of 19:07.

    Freshman Keeley Bateman broke the STAC 5k school record with a time of 19:09 finishing in 2nd place in the Highlander Invitational at Branch Brook Park on Sunday. For the men's team, freshman Mike Galonski came within 7 seconds of the 8K school record finishing 4th with a time of 26:04.

  • Spartan Runners Pick Up Pace at Brooks Paul Short Run

    Freshman Mike Galonski set a new personal record of 27:04 as he led the STAC men's cross country team in the Lehigh Brooks Paul Short Run on Friday. The women's squad was paced by junior Sarah Callagy and freshman Keeley Bateman in their first 6K race of the season. The Spartans clocked eight personal records in the race featuring almost 200 collegiate programs.

    For the second consecutive week, the St. Thomas Aquinas College women's cross country team has been ranked #10 in the NCAA DII East Region. The ranking was released this afternoon by the USTFCCCA.
  • Spartan Runners Lend a Hand

    The STAC Cross Country and Track & Field programs joined forces at the 22nd Annual South Nyack 10-Miler Race hosted by the Rockland Roadrunners. The runners volunteered as timers and handed out water to participants along the race course. All proceeds from the event were donated to local organizations including the South Nyack and Piermont Volunteer Fire Departments and Junior Achievements.

    St. Thomas Aquinas College runners Sarah Callagy and Keeley Bateman were honored by the East Coast Conference for this weeks performances. Callagy was named the Runner of the Week, while Bateman took home the Rookie of the Week honors.

    The Lady Spartan cross country team has been ranked #10 in the NCAA DII East Region by the USTFCCCA. It is the first time in program history that the squad appears in the regional rankings.

    The Lady Spartans made a statement at the C.W. Post Invitational finishing 4th overall in a field of 14. Junior Sarah Callagy set a new STAC 5K Record finishing the 5K race in 19:43, while two of her teammates also set personal records. Freshman Mike Galonski paced the men's team in 27:07 leading them to a 5th place finish.

    St. Thomas Aquinas Cross Country Runner, Sarah Callagy was named the ECC Female Runner of the Week. Callagy led the Spartans' charge at the Fordham Fiasco, completing the 5,000-meter loop at Van Cortlandt Park in a 31st place time of 20:14.

    The STAC cross country team opened their season on Saturday at the Fordham Fiasco at Van Cotlandt Park. Junior Sarah Callagy set the pace for the Lady Spartans as they placed second among the division II schools. The men's squad was lead by Mike Galonski in his freshmen debut.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's cross country teams was selected to finish fourth in the ECC pre-season polls with the women selected to finish sixth. The men return all conference runners Vinnie Modafferi and Einar Brissing while the women return all confernce runner Sarah Callagy.

    Following their first ever conference championship crown, the women's cross country team has been ranked #10 in the East Region in today's USTFCCCA poll. This is the third time they have appeared in the poll this season.
