    The St. Thomas Aquinas women's soccer team tied Chestnut Hill College, 0-0 in double overtime. STAC honored their six seniors in a pre-game ceremony all who participated in a hard fought game that resulted in a draw.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas women's soccer team lost to Georgian Court University, 5-0 in yesterday afternoon's non- conference game. STAC had nine shots on goal to the Lions twenty-two. Jeanette Gibson recorded ten saves for the Lady Spartans.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas women's soccer team dropped a hard fought game at home to C.W. Post, 1-0. STAC goal keeper Jeanett Gibson had ten saves for the Lady Spartans. Nicole Biolsi had a shot on goal that was saved by Nicole Fierro of C.W. Post.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas women's soccer team lost to NYIT, 2-1 in last nights East Coast Conference matchup. Sophomore Katherine Dapolito scored for the Lady Spartans at the 26:25 minute mark in the first half to tie the game at 1-1. Jeanette Gibson recorded four saves for the game.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas women's soccer team lost to the University of Bridgeport, 3-1 in this afternoon's contest. STAC received a goal from sophomore Tori Matt off a direct kick just outside the box. Senior Jeanette Gibson recorded sixteen saves in the loss.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas women's soccer team lost to Molloy College, 4-0. STAC had six shot attempts including two from Tori Matt. Senior Jeanette Gibson recorded one save for the game.
  • Lady Spartans Drop to Dowling, 5-0

    The St. Thomas Aquinas women's soccer team suffered a 5-0 loss at Dowling. The Lady Spartans struggled to get looks on goal as Dowling out shot them 35-0. STAC received thirteen saves from senior keeper Jeanette Gibson and three from sophomore Julia Karl.
  • Knights Shut Down Lady Spartans, 6-0

    The St. Thomas Aquinas women's soccer team fell 6-0 to Queens College in yesterday afternoon's contest. The Lady Spartans have scored at least one goal in their last five games with three of them resulting in wins before being shut out by Queens. STAC had three shot attempts, two by Liz Gronwoldt and one by freshman Michelle Dugan.
  • Gibson Named ECC Defensive Player of the Week

    St. Thomas Aquinas women's soccer goal keeper Jeanette Gibson was named East Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week. Gibson went 2-0 last week shutting out both Post University and Bloomfield College. The Stony Point resident recorded six and nine saves respectively including a penalty kick save in the final minutes of play against Bloomfield to help STAC preserve the win.
  • Grondwolt Scores, Lady Spartans Win Third in a Row

    The St. Thomas Aquinas women's soccer team beat visiting Bloomfiled College,1-0 in this evenings contest. Sophomore Liz Grondwolt scored off a pass from Ashley Nevins nineteen minutes into the game. Jeanette Gibson recorded nine saves for the day to record her second shut out of the season.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas women's soccer team beat visiting Post University, 1-0 in this evenings contest. The Lady Spartans who have now won back to back games received a goal from sophomore Katherine Dapolito with just under six minutes remaining in the game. Senior Jeanett Gibson had a stellar performance robbing Post on two breakaway opportunities along with four other tough saves to record the shutout.
  • Lady Spartans Top Lightning, 4-3

    The St. Thomas Aquinas women's soccer team won their first game of the season, 4-3 over home team Goldey-Beacom College. Sophomore Tori Matt recorded her first goal as a Lady Spartan early in the game and netted another in the second half. Liz Gronwoldt and Nicole Biolsi scored as well for STAC with Gronwoldt adding an assist. Katherine Dapolito assisted on the first two goals of the day.
  • Lady Spartans Surrender Late Goal in OT, Drop 3-2 to Felician

    The St. Thomas Aquinas women's soccer scored a late goal in the first half as junior Nicole Biolsi turned on a defender and shot the ball into the top left corner. Liz Grondwolt tied the game in the second half when she scored off a pass from Michealle Kelly. Felcian was able to pull out the win with :57 seconds remaining in overtime to earn the victory.
  • Lady Spartans Notch First Goal; Fall to Nyack 2-1

    St. Thomas Aquinas sophomore Katherine Dapolito put the Lady Spartans on the scoreboard for the first time this season. Dapolito's goal came with four minutes remaining in the game but was not enough to carry STAC over Nyack.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas women's soccer team put up a strong fight against host team American International in this afternoons contest. The Spartans went down one after Sarah Boornazian connected on a penalty kick eleven minutes into the game but fought hard to keep the score 1-0 throughout the rest of the half. Senior goal keeper Jeanette Gibson had sixteen saves for the day, eight in each half.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas women's soccer team struggled in their opening game against LeMoyne College at the AIC Classic in Springfield, MA. Liz Gronwoldt had three shots on goal while Tori Matt added two. LeMoyne received two goals apiece from Megan O'Shea and Christina Harrison. Gabriele Ariola and Caitlin O'Rourke each added a goal for the Dolphins. Freshman forward Christie Morano assisted on both of O'Shea's goals and freshman midfielder Jennifer Fabian had a hand in each of the final two goals of the game.
  • Lady Spartan Soccer Ready to Kick Off 2009 Season

    With a week and a half of practice under their belt the St. Thomas Aquinas Women’s Soccer team will kick off the 2009 season at 5 PM this evening as they prepare to face Lemoyne College in the AIC Classic. The Lady Spartans will play host team American International tomorrow at 1 PM. “This tournament will be a true test for us, commented first year Head Coach Nicole Ballou, it will help us prepare for the season we have ahead.” Ballou took over at the helm in November of 2008 and is excited about the opportunity ahead. “We still have a lot of work ahead of us but it is our goal to improve the quality of the program and lay the foundation for our future success,” stated Ballou.
