  • Spartans Host Men's Soccer Alumni Game

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer program hosted a Spartan Alumni game on April 6th at the Christopher St. Lawrence Sports Complex in Hillburn, NY. The Alumni turned up in force to give the Spartans a very strong game.
  • Men's Soccer Honored for NCAA Sweet Sixteen Appearance

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Men's Soccer Team was recognized on Wednesday evening at the basketball doubleheader for the program's first ever trip to the NCAA Championship Tournament. Their championship banner was unveiled and the athletes received medallions for their achievements.
  • Davren and Lee Earn Daktronics All Region Recognition

    St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer players Daniel Davren and Remington Lee were named to the Daktronics 2nd Team All Region. This is the second time Davren has made the All Region team. Davren led the Spartans in points with 8 goals and 8 assists while Lee was their leading goal scorer with 10 goals this season.
  • Curtain Closes on Men's Soccer at NCAAs in 5-0 Setback

    The terrific 2011 season for the St. Thomas Aquinas College men's soccer team came to a close on Saturday, with a 5-0 setback at the hands of host Franklin Pierce University in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament in Rindge, NH. The Spartans finish the year with a record of 11-4-4.

  • Spartans Top NYIT in NCAA Tournament, 4-1

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 with a 4-1 win over NYIT this afternoon. Daniel Davren scored a goal just 10 minutes into action to get the Spartans rolling. Remington Lee added 2 goals and Sean Reily had 1. Andrew Tartara had 2 saves for STAC.
  • Spartans Advance to NCAA Tournament

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team advances to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in the programs history. The Spartans finished the regular season 10-3-4 and were ranked 4th in the East Region going into the final week of the season. STAC is the #5 seed in the East Region Bracket and will play #4 seeded NYIT on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
  • Spartans Name Four to ECC All Conference Team

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team had four players receive all conference recognition. Midfielders Daniel Davren and Remington Lee were named first team all conference while Midfielder Sean Reily and Goal Keeper Andrew Tartara were named to the second team. The Spartans finished the regular season with a record of 10-3-4.
  • Joseph Connolly Named ECC Player of the Week

    St. Thomas Aquinas Men's Soccer player Joseph Connolly was named the ECC Player of the Week. Connolly had 2 goals and 1 assist in the Spartans 3-0 win over UDC. The sophomore forward assisted STAC’s first goal of the game against the Firebirds before knocking in 2 second half goals within a three minute span to lead the Spartans to victory.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team lost to NYIT, 2-0 on Monday afternoon. NYIT score two second half goals including one in the final minute of action to beat the Spartans and knock them out of an ECC play off spot. Andrew Tartara had 2 saves for the Spartans. STAC had 15 shots, 5 on goal to the Bears 21 and 4.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team defeated the in the Spartans final home game. Joseph Connolly scored two goals and had one assist and Sean Reily added one goal. Andrew Tartara recorded 3 saves in the win.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team lost to Bridgeport, 1-0 in this afternoon's game. The Spartans had more shot attempts then the Purple Knights but were unable to capitalize. Andrew Tartara had 1 save in the loss. STAC honored their 7 seniors prior to the game.
  • Spartans Host Breast Cancer Awareness Day

    The St. Thomas Aquinas soccer teams are going to be wearing their pink warm up t-shirts in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Day. The men's soccer team will also be honoring their seniors in a pre-game ceremony. Food and drink will be available for the players and family after both games. Fans are encouraged to wear pink and their will be ribbons sold to raise money for the cause.
  • Spartans Top Nationally Ranked Mercyhurst, 2-1

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team beat Nationally ranked Mercyhurst College, 2-1 this afternoon. Freshmen Liam Ryan scored his first collegiate goal. Dan Davren added the game winning goal in the final two minutes of the game. Rookie Nicholas Pulumbo had 5 saves in his first start.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team beat Molloy College 3-2 in Satuday afternoon's game. Sean Reily scored the first goal of the game and his 5th goal of the season. Remington Lee added two goals late in the second to tie the game and put the Spartans ahead for good. Dan Davren added 2 assists while Reily had 1 assist.
  • Spartans Continue Strong Play, Ranked 4th Regionally

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team is currently ranked 4th in the East Region with a record of 7-1-4. STAC dropped out of the National Poll after a tough 1-0 loss against C.W. Post who is ranked #1 in the East Region and 3rd in the Nation. The Spartans have still received votes Nationally.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team lost, 1-0 to C.W. Post on Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers scored in the final ten minutes of the game to remain undefeated and at the top of the ECC. Andrew Tartara had 2 saves for STAC. The Spartans had 3 shots on goal, two from Joseph Connolly and one from Dan Davren.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team tied with Queens College, 0-0 in double overtime. The Spartans dominated the game out shooting the Knights, 23-9. Andrew Tartara recorded 6 saves in the shutout.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team is ranked #17 in the country announced today by the NSCAA Coaches. STAC was 6-0-3 at the time of the ranking and 1-0-1 in the ECC. The Spartans are ranked #3 in the East Region.
  • Spartan Soccer Teams Participate in Charity Walk

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's and women's soccer teams participated in the 17th Annual Support-A-Walk, to help raise money and awareness for children with cancer. The group of 47 athletes walked the 3 mile loop at FDR State Park in Yorktown, NY and raised $250.00. "The teams truly enjoyed giving something back to kids that do not have the same opportunity that they have."

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team moved one spot to #4 in the East Region after a 1-1 tie against previously ranked #4 Dowling College on Saturday. The Spartans received a late goal from senior Edgar Barragan to even up the game. STAC was 4-0-3 at the time of the regional voting by the NSCAA.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team beat Caldwell College, 7-3 this afternoon. Remington Lee scored 3 goals for STAC while Jack Legg added his first 2 goals of the season. Daniel Davren and Sean Reily each scored a goal and had 2 assists for the Spartans. In goal, Andrew Tartara recorded 1 save while Nicholas Croce had 2.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team tied with Dowling College this afternoon, 1-1. Edgar Barragan scored his first game of the season, late in the second half to tie the game up. Neither team scored through two overtime periods. Andrew Tartara had 6 saves for STAC.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team will take on Dowling College tomorrow afternoon at Ramapo College. Game time is set for 4:00 PM. The Spartans are currently ranked #5 in the East Region, while Dowling is ranked #4. This is STAC's first conference game of the season.

The Spartans jumped up three spots after a 2-0 week, including a 3-0 win over previously #7 ranked Chestnut Hill. STAC is lead by Daniel Davren who has recorded 4 goals and 4 assists and was named this week ECC Offensive Player of the Week. Davren had 2 goals and 3 assists this week.

Davren scored 2 goals and had 3 assists this week and leads the Spartans with 4 goals and 4 assists. Tartara recorded 8 saves; 6 against regionally ranked Chestnut Hill for his third shutout of the season.
