  • Spartan Soccer 'Lights It Up Blue" for Autism

    The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's and Women's Soccer programs showed their support for Autism at a campus event last week in honor of Autism Awareness Month. They joined their fellow classmates in "Lighting It Up Blue" to raise funds to increase awareness about autism and its effects on individuals, family and society.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas College student-athletes volunteered at the Spring Day of Caring sponsored by the United Way of Rockland Country. Members of the men's and women's basketball and soccer teams offered assistance to numerous organizations within the community.
  • Davren, Cowpar and Tartara Earn All ECC Honors

    St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer players Daniel Davren, David Cowpar and Andrew Tartara earned All Conference honors as voted upon the ECC men's soccer coaches. Davren and Cowpar were named to the fist team while Tartara was named to the second team. The Spartans are coming off their best regular season record of 12-4-1.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team lost to the University of Bridgeport, 3-2 in overtime. Remington Lee and Brendan Flynn each scored for the Spartans. Flynn along with Daniel Davren and Joseph Connolly each added assists. Andrew Tartara had 2 saves for STAC.
  • Spartans Set for ECC Playoffs

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team will be playing in the opening round of the ECC playoffs on Friday, November 5th at Bridgeport. The Spartans are coming off their best regular season record, 12-4-1 and 4-3-0 in the ECC. STAC is currently ranked 6th in the NCAA East Regional Ranking.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team lost at Bridgeport, 3-1. Daniel Davren scored off a penalty kick for his 9th goal of the season. The Spartans had 8 shots on goal to the Purple Knights 5.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team lost to Philadelphia University, 1-0 on a late goal in the final minutes of play. Andrew Tartara had 5 saves in the loss. Robert Stevens had two of the Spartans five shot attempts.
  • Molloy Tops Spartans, 1-0

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team lost to Molloy College, 1-0. The Spartans played a hard fought game but could not rally a goal dropping their first game in three weeks. This is also the first game of the season that the Spartans did not score a goal.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's & women's soccer teams hosted free soccer clinics for young boys and girls within the local communities. Athletes from both programs taught drills, ran games and served as positive role models to boys and girls ages 4-13.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team picked up their 12th win of the seaons with a 2-0 victory over St. Rose College. Brendan Flynn and Remington Lee each scored for STAC. Sean Reily and Daniel Davren each added an assist.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team remains ranked 5th in the NCAA East Region. The Spartans are coming off a 2-0 week with wins over New Haven and C.W. Post. STAC is currently 11-1-1 and will travel to St. Rose on Wednesday. Live stats will be available on Wednesday.

    St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer players Andrew Tartara and Joseph Connolly were named the East Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week. The Spartans went 2-0 for the week and are currently 11-1-1 and 4-1 in the ECC.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team beat C.W. Post, 2-1 in overtime. Daniel Davren scored the game winning goal off a assist from Sean Reily. Davren also assisted STAC's first goal from Joseph Connolly. Andrew Tartara had 6 saves as the Spartans move to 11-1-1 and 4-1 in the conference.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer players Remington Lee and David Cowpar were named the ECC offensive and defensive players of the week. Each scored a goal in STAC's 2-0 win over Mercy College. The Spartans are 9-0-1 and 3-1 in the ECC.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team beat Mercy, 2-0. STAC received goals from Remington Lee and David Cowpar. Daniel Davren assisted Lee's goal in the opening five minutes of play and Lee had the assist on Cowpar's second half goal.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team is ranked 6th in the East Region announced by the NCAA this morning. The Spartans are 8-1-1 and 2-1 in the ECC. STAC is lead by Daniel Davren on the offensive end with 7 goals and 4 assists. Junior goal keeper Andrew Tartara has 51 saves and 2 shutouts so far the season.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team lost to regionally ranked Dowling College, 2-1 in overtime. The Spartans played a hard fought game giving up a goal off a direct kick in sudden death overtime. Daniel Davren scored for the Spartans off a cross from Sean Reily.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team is currently ranked 6th in the East Coast Region. The Spartans moved up three places after a 1-0 week with a 2-0 win over NYIT. STAC is undefeated at 6-0-0 and will play Assumption College tomorrow at 3:30 PM. .
  • Andrew Tartara Named ECC Defensive Player of the Week

    St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer player, Andrew Tartara was named this weeks ECC Defensive Player of the Week. The junior goal keeper posted a 2-0 shutout over NYIT in the Spartans ECC opener. Tartara recorded six stops on the day to help the Spartans improve to 6-0-0.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team remained undefeated as they beat ECC opponent NYIT, 2-0. Freshman David Cowpar scored for STAC and senior Chris Hernandez knocked in a penalty kick to guide STAC to victory.

    St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer player Brendan Flynn was named the East Coast Conference offensive player of the week. Flynn was instrumental in the Spartans 3-0 week, adding late game heroics to help sweep his team through the St. Michael's Doubetree Classic over the weekend.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team beat St. Anselm, 3-2 on Sunday morning. Brendan Flynn continued his strong play with a game winning goal with less then two minutes remaining. Daniel Davren, the hot foot of the Spartans, scored STAC's first two goals. Andrew Tartara had four stops in the win.
